St. John's Reads - The Book of Lost Friends

Join us on Wednesday, March 9 at 2pm on Zoom to discuss this historical fiction tale of three women searching for lost family members in the post Civil War South, based on real newspaper ads placed by newly freed slaves trying to locate loved ones in the aftermath of the war. This is also the story of a modern day teacher who knows of these searches and connects students to this lost history, instilling awareness of how far we have come, and the reality of how much there is still left to do.

Help feed your neighbors when you shop at Meijer- Woodward Corner Market

Open Hands Food Pantry has joined forces with the Meijer Simply Give hunger relief program. When you shop at the Woodward Corner Market located at 30955 Woodward Ave., either in-store or online using Meijer pickup or home delivery, consider adding a Simply Give donation card to your basket through April 10.

For every $10 Simply Give donation card purchased on Saturday, March 13, and Saturday, April 3, Meijer will double match the contribution meaning they will donate an additional $20. This means our pantry will receive a total of $30 for every $10 a customer donates on those days.
